Quick update

A quick update before I do round 4 tomorrow.  First of all, I have not felt very well at all the last couple of weeks.  I am hoping that I will recover quicker after round 4.  I did find out that my mouth sores are not from a virus, which is good.  They are just good old fashioned chemo mouth sores.  The reason I have felt so bad is because it has been hard to eat with all those sores in my mouth and throat, and because I got a cold, and my red blood cell count has dropped a bit.  I have felt more light-headed and weak.  Last night I even vomited a couple of times for the first time during chemo.  I hope that will be the last!!
BUT, I am mentally doing okay with this.  I hope my mouth sores go away soon, and that my cold gets better.  That would really help.
I can’t do anything to increase my red blood cell count, because my bone marrow is killing my red blood cells in my body because of the chemo.  Weird!!  But I think that I definitely had some good wiggle room on my red blood cell count for it to drop and still be within acceptable limits to do chemo tomorrow.  So, . . . . YAY!  More chemo!!  =)
On another note, I will get my PET scan on July 7th.  That is one day before I am scheduled for my 5th round.  That will be an important day for us to see how chemo is working so far.
Alright, I am going to bed now.  My thanks to so many friends who have helped me this week or visited.  We have seen a few very close friends from various places we have lived over the past week, and it has been great!  Tomorrow my oldest niece volunteered to drive 4 hours up here to come to chemo with me and help with kids for the weekend.  I just love her!!
